Dear M100 Family,
Happy Labor Day!
While it is unfortunate that we did not get to perform our show at our first football game of the season, we have an opportunity to build up an even stronger debut performance for next week. Do not allow minor setbacks to prevent you from reaching your goals. Let’s keep our momentum going as we push through the season!
Here is your weekend update!

8 HOUR RULE CLARIFICATION
There appears to be some confusion about our rehearsal schedule and the 8 hour rule.
Transition time does not count toward the 8 hour rule. This means if we start rehearsal inside and we move outside to the practice field, even though rehearsal ends at 8pm, we are not breaking the 8 hour rule because we are transitioning for 15 minutes during the block. This is addressed in the second to last question on the Eight Hour Marching Band Rule FAQ.
9/3 LEADERSHIP MEETING
Student leaders, we will have a leadership meeting from 4:30pm-5:00pm on Wednesday, September 3 in the large ensemble room.
9/5 AWAY FOOTBALL GAME @ GEORGETOWN HS
Our next football game of the season will be an away game against Georgetown HS at the GISD Athletic Complex in Georgetown, TX. Please click HERE to view the itinerary for the game.
NOTE: We will be wearing long black socks and marching shoes for this game!
9/5 GAMEDAY MEAL
The meal for Friday will be Raising Cane’s. Students with allergy/dietary restrictions will be the only ones who will receive a survey to fill out on Tuesday for a different meal choice.
9/8 BELTON BAND BOOSTER MEETING
The next Belton Band Booster meeting will be in the Band Hall at 6:30pm. Please join us to hear about all of the events planned for the next month including contest information, learn how you can help out, and bring any questions you may have.
9/13 DRUMS IN THE HEARTLAND PERCUSSION CONTEST
All percussion students and wind soloists (for part 1,2,3) will be attending the percussion contest at Joseph Searles III Stadium on Saturday, September 13.
The address is 27PQ+2M, Killeen, TX 76542. (Next to Chaparral High School)
We will be receiving a director’s packet with information and times early this week.
ELIGIBILITY MATTERS – PASS YOUR CLASSES!
In order to participate in extracurricular performances and events outside of the school day, students will need to be academically eligible when we do our eligibility checks. Although Belton ISD operates on a 9-week grading period, we will have a grade check at the 6-week mark in order to operate on a fair playing field to other districts with 6-week grading periods. Our first eligibility check will be on Friday, September 19 at 4:25pm. Any student with a grade below a 70 in an on level class at this time will be considered academically ineligible, beginning on Friday, September 26 at 4:25pm. These students will still be required to attend all rehearsals, but will not be allowed to attend the following events.
- Friday, September 26 – AWAY Football Game @ Cuero HS
- Saturday, October 4 – Vista Ridge Marching Festival
- Saturday, October 11 – USBands Burleson Marching Contest
The 2nd eligibility check will be on Wednesday, October 8 at 4:25pm. Since this is the official end of our grading period, students that were eligible at the first grade check can still lose their eligibility. M100 students are encouraged to keep all grades above a 70 at all times in order to prevent the risk of failing.
