ALL STATE STUDENT RECOGNITION MONDAY FEB. 21 AT BISD BOARD MEETING
Pittenger Fine Arts Center - 400 N Wall St, Belton, TX 76513
Ethan, Sam, and Jacob - arrive by 5:50pm. Recognitions should begin at 6:15pm. Parents/Family & Friends welcome. Dress in semi-formal. Slacks and nice shirt please.
BHS SOLO/ENSEMBLE CONTEST - FEB. 26
SCHEDULE COMING SOON!
We will need at least 25 student monitors for the solo & ensemble contest we are hosting at BHS on 2/26. Monitors will need to be available for a mandatory meeting Friday, Feb. 25 in the band hall from 4:40pm to 6pm. Information / training will occur as well as set up for the next morning.
We will need at least 10 students for the AM session - 7am-1pm AND at least 10 for the PM session - 1pm-about 6:30pm.
We will be asking for volunteers starting Wednesday. Thank you!

David Perez-Guerra will also be at BHS on Friday. Schedule posted near band library (all sessions will be during band classes on Friday).
SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST - PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT FEES WERE DUE FEB. 18TH
The piano accompaniment fee is $50
Covers 2 rehearsals and the performance.
CHECKS MADE OUT TO BELTON HS BAND BOOSTERS (include your child’s first and last name on the memo line of the check) or cash in an envelope with the student's name printed clearly on the envelope.
Give the checks/cash to Mrs. Gill. I will provide a receipt or email parents to let them know I received payment.

Purchasing a plate is optional (any funds raised off-set cost for students seeking financial aid for accompaniment fees)
Band members who wish to eat must also purchase a plate but allow at least 30 minutes to warm-up and prepare before their performance. Eat after you play if it’s not too late.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Altrusa Scholarship. Any student who is or will be attending a college or vocational school in the state of Texas can apply. There are ten, $2,000 scholarships that will be awarded. Go online to altrusatemple.org and fill out ALL of the information. ALL information has to be submitted or the application will not be considered. The deadline is March 31.

We appreciate all of the M100 families and friends who supported the AJ Howard Memorial 5K this weekend! We are pleased to announce that $6640 was raised for the AJ Howard Fund. These 2 amazing directors contributed so much to the Belton ISD Band program and mentored countless young teachers.

Private lessons are STRONGLY encouraged for all students for individualized assistance and musical skill advancement. Financial assistance is available (lesson scholarship).

Each student in a BHS band will have a sectional outside of the school day once a week this semester. These sectionals will be updated on our band calendar. Please contact your child’s director with any questions.
