SENIOR RECOGNITION BOARD:
A message from your Drum Major - Ella Pusey:
Hey seniors! As we are making our plans for the future, Mrs. Gill has asked me to create a board to recognize our seniors and their future plans in the band hall. This can include acceptance into college, tech school, military service, or whatever your future plans may hold. If you'd like to please fill out the survey questions from this QR code and bring me (Ella) a 4x6 picture of you to be displayed on the board. This is completely optional but it would be really cool if you did it!
SECTIONALS FOR ALL BANDS ARE POSTED TO THE BAND WEBSITE. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CHILD’S ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.
Wind Ensemble - shannon.gill@bisd.net
Wind Symphony - kevin.kwaku@bisd.net
Symphonic Band - christopher.kreger@bisd.net
Concert Band - kevin.kwaku@bisd.net
Sectionals are mandatory for all students. These are specialized, typically outside of class, rehearsals we will have for students in like-instrument groups concentrating on our UIL contest music. They are absolutely essential for our band’s success at UIL competition. (They are also a grade). Thank you for supporting your children’s musical education here at BHS!
FUTURE PLANNING - SUMMER BAND 2021
PLEASE DO NOT PLAN ANYTHING THAT WILL CAUSE YOUR CHILD TO MISS SUMMER BAND DURING THESE DATES:
July 26 - 27: Most likely will be M100 LEADERSHIP SESSIONS (including ColorGuard)
July 28 - start of school in August: Summer Band for all Members (including ColorGuard)
ColorGuard and Percussion usually hold a camp during the week of July 19-23
*Confirmed dates will be posted on our band website soon. Tentative dates are there now, however, unless something changes, you can count on Summer Band during these times.
Thank you!
