Dear M100 Family,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and staying warm! Congratulations to all of our students who performed with one of the Region 8 All-Region Bands yesterday at Copperas Cove. We had students in all 4 bands (Freshman, Concert, Symphonic, and Wind Symphony) and each ensemble was outstanding! We hope all students enjoyed their experience and performing a whole concert in just 2 days!
Congratulations are also in order to our 3 All State Band Members for the results of their chair placement auditions. Just when they thought they were done with auditions, they had to make videos after the Area contest to determine which chair they would get (their ranking amongst other students who made State) and then choose the State ensemble in which they will participate at the TMEA Convention next month.
Jacob Wiley earned the 2nd chair French Horn spot out of 42 and will perform with the TMEA Symphony Orchestra. Jacob’s concert is at 8:30pm on Feb. 12 in San Antonio.
Ethan Rasmusssen earned the 3rd chair Percussion spot out of 42 and will perform with the first-ever TMEA 6A Percussion Ensemble. Ethan’s concert is at 11:15am on Feb. 12 in San Antonio.
Sam Fothergill earned the 23rd chair Percussion spot out of 42 and will perform with the TMEA 6A Symphonic Band. Sam’s concert is at 7pm on Feb. 12 in San Antonio.
Congratulations to all of our students for their outstanding accomplishments! 2022 is off to a great start for the BHS Band!
