Dear M100 Family,
UIL just released updated Risk Mitigation Guidelines today around 11am. The M100 staff is in meetings and working to process these new guidelines and how they will affect our summer band rehearsals going forward and the school year. There are an immense amount of moving parts, AND so many people we have to conference with and wait on for guidance, so it will take a little time to come out with a Plan B (actually plan N, M, or O by now!).
I did want to share with you a few points and a change so that you can plan ahead....
(Based on new UIL guidelines, as of today):
Bands in Texas cannot start drill for their shows until Sept. 7th regardless of when and how a school's year starts. (football season has been pushed later in the semester)
BHS Band can continue working over the summer but we will most likely change up the schedule. More on that to come.
So...we will produce many more details in the days to come but for now...we have decided as a staff to postpone the New Member/Leadership practices that were originally scheduled for July 29,30, and 31 to a later date.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
This week can continue as it was scheduled for Color Guard and Percussion.
July 27 & 28 - same as was scheduled for Leadership work days.
July 29,30,31 - Postponed. New dates will be in August and announced soon
August 1 & 2 - SASI leadership camp for leaders (virtual) still on as scheduled.
*Colorguard may come out with a unique schedule in the days to come. Mr. Hudnall will be in contact with you guys.
Please keep your forms coming and we can continue to use August 1st as a due date for those.
Much more detailed info. about the future coming soon. I'm honestly waiting to hear from our district as to when and how we will start school this year - that will determine the course of some of our future rehearsals. I will also be updating the band calendar as new information comes in on our band website - beltonmarching100.com
Thanks so much for your patience and I wish I could offer you more concrete information. Please email if you have any questions or concerns.
