Dear M100 Family,
TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER BAND!!! I am excited to officially start our 2024 marching season and I am looking forward to having everyone together!
As mentioned in the last update, the new band hall is not finished yet, and I received confirmation today that we will be able to spend the beginning of summer band up through July 31st at BELTON MIDDLE SCHOOL! Please read the information below to familiarize yourself with the details regarding our usage of BMS.

Athletic clothing/appropriate footwear for marching

Jokes aside, we MUST stay hydrated at all of our rehearsals. Everyone is required to bring a water jug/bottle of some kind to every marching band rehearsal!
PARK AT THE BMS PARKING LOT BY THE CAFETERIA
The parking lot between Belton MS and the band practice field will be available for parking during summer band.
BELTON MS WILL BE WAXING FLOORS THIS WEEK
Belton Middle School is being VERY accommodating of our situation in allowing us to use their space. In return, we are being asked to avoid certain areas of BMS so that they can continue to wax their floors. Please click on the link below to view the areas we must avoid. WE CANNOT ENTER THROUGH THE DOORS BY THE CAFETERIA THAT FACE OUR BAND PRACTICE FIELD.
ENTER THROUGH DOOR “H11” FOR MORNING REHEARSALS
Due to the chance for rain this week, we will plan to use the BMS Auxillary Gym for our morning rehearsals. If weather permits, we will practice out on our practice lot. I will update through Remind if we will do our rehearsals inside or outside.
Door “H11” is facing Tiger Drive between BMS and BHS. We are working on having signage put up, but you will be able to see the “H11” above the entry doors.
Color Guard will use the COMPETITION GYM, which is to the LEFT when you enter door “H11”.
Winds and drumline will use the PRACTICE GYM, which is to the RIGHT when you enter door “H11”.
WIND PLAYERS WILL ENTER THROUGH DOOR “H18” FOR AFTERNOON SECTIONALS (TUBAS WILL DO AFTERNOON SECTIONALS IN THE PRACTICE GYM)
We will use the “D” hallway for our wind sectionals for our afternoon blocks. We wil enter this hallway from door “H18” by the BMS track, which is on the opposite side of the building from the parking lot mentioned above. Tubas will rehearse music in the practice gym and will enter through “H11”.
INSTRUMENT STORAGE
Due to the location of the BHS Band Hall relative to BMS, and the fact that our new locker storage is not currently usable, we will not have lockers for students to utilize over the next two weeks. Students will either need to bring their instrument home with them each day, or keep their instruments in the BMS practice gym.
THE SUMMER BAND SCHEDULE IS UPDATED ON THE BAND WEBSITE (WITH UPDATES!)
Please check the calendar band website at beltonmarching100.com/calendar to view the dates and times for our upcoming summer schedule. There are a few things to note:
Summer band begins on Tuesday, July 23 and will last until Friday, August 9. This will not include weekends.
All July dates will be from 8:00am-4:30pm. Lunch will be from 11:00am-12:30pm.
On day 1, Tuesday, July 23, ONLY STUDENT LEADERS, FRESHMEN AND NEW MEMBERS WILL MEET AT 8:00AM. The full band will meet all together at 12:30pm. (This does not apply to Color Guard OR FRONT ENSEMBLE MEMBERS. All members will meet at 8:00am ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.)
On day 2, Wednesday, July 24, ALL SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND SENIORS WILL MEET AT 8:00AM. The full band will meet all together at 12:30pm. (This does not apply to Color Guard OR FRONT ENSEMBLE MEMBERS. All members will meet at 8:00am ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.)
On day 3 and for the remainder of summer band, ALL MEMBERS WILL MEET THE WHOLE DAY.
August dates will look slightly different due to the Teacher Inservice schedule. There will still only be 1 or 2 blocks of rehearsal, but each day in August will have an evening rehearsal that lasts until 8:30pm. Please utilize the calendar on the band website to keep track of specific dates and times. (There have been a few adjustments from what I sent out previously due to new information I received today. Please view the changes below in RED)
