As we mentioned last week, we appreciate the effort that each student has put into the development of their individual musicianship! SOLO AND ENSEMBLE SIGN UP

SOLO & ENSEMBLE SIGN UP: IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THIS FORM ALREADY, IT NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP!

OR

A couple reminders:

  • Wind Ensemble will select, rehearse, and perform a Solo AND an Ensemble

  • Wind Symphony will select, rehearse, and perform a Solo

  • Symphonic Band will select, rehearse, and perform a Solo

Steps to Select a Solo

  1. Look through the Filing Cabinet for Solos that we already have.

  2. Find professional recordings and listen through the music while following along.

  3. Critically listen, and decide whether or not you: 1) like the piece of music; 2) if you are capable of performing it with the amount of practice time that you have; 3) you believe you will grow as a musician from practicing and performing it.

  4. Look up on the UIL Prescribed Music List (PML) to make sure that the piece is approved. https://www.uiltexas.org/pml/

  5. Double-Check the PML and make sure that composer, arranger, and publisher are correct.

  6. Fill out this Form :)

  7. Put the music back!
