Dear M100 Family,

With our Division 1 ratings at last Saturday’s UIL contest, we have officially qualified for Area! We now have two weeks to develop the details and the overall quality of our show.

Here is your weekend update!

INFORMATION AND UPDATES

REGION 8 UIL CONTEST RESULTS

The M100 received Division 1 ratings from all three judges at the UIL Region 8 Marching contest. This rating qualifies us for the UIL 5A Area D Marching contest on Saturday, November 1 at the Pfield in Pflugerville, TX!

We will know more information about the Area contest when the other regions in Area D complete their respective Region contests during the upcoming week.

SENIOR NIGHT INFO, SENIOR SIGNS AND BIO SURVEY

Senior Night for the M100 and Magic Belles will be on the day of the home football game vs. Waco HS on Thursday, October 30. As per tradition, senior students will decorate a poster for the “Senior Sign”, which students and their family members will walk through during a ceremony that will take place on the field before the game. (In years past, this has been done at halftime. Now the ceremony will be held before the game begins.)

M100 Seniors, the posters for the Senior Sign are in the band hall and ready for you to decorate. Signs are due on Friday, October 24.

Seniors will also need to fill out the bio on the link included HERE by the end of the day on Sunday, October 26.

Also, there will be a senior night rehearsal at the practice field on Wednesday, October 29 from 5:00pm-6:00pm, where we will practice walking through the sign and go over name pronunciations for the script. (We will only go to 6:00pm if needed. We could be done as early as 5:20pm if everything goes smoothly.)

WEEK OF 10/20 REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

For morning rehearsals, the band hall will open at 6:30am.

NOTE: All afternoon rehearsals will be listed as ending at 8:00pm until we know for sure that we will be able to start outside and end at 7:45pm.

    • Winds, drumline and pit will begin OUTSIDE
    • Guard will be in the AUX GYM

    • Visual focus rehearsal
      • New Choreo
      • Get our feet in time

10/23 BURNING OF THE “B”

The “Burning of the ‘B’” event will be held on Thursday, October 23 from 6pm-8pm. Students are more than welcome to attend the festivities at the event from 6:00pm to about 6:45pm, but we will be performing stand tunes at the end of the event, so students will need to report to the band hall at 7:00pm. (Front Ensemble students will not be performing at this event)

Attire: RED M100 T-SHIRT (this is a change), M100 shorts, athletic shoes

SCHEDULE

7:00pm – Call Time at the Band Hall/Warm-Up

7:15pm – Move to Practice Field

7:30pm – Performance Begins

8:00pm – Performance Ends

10/24 PEP RALLY

We will have our first pep rally in a while this week on Friday, October 24. With the new belle schedule, the structure of pep rallies will look different. I will keep you posted.

Reminder that the M100 JERSEY is needed for pep rallies!
